The First United Methodist Church Preschool is a non-profit Christian Preschool offering early care and developmentally-appropriate learning experiences in the Nacogdoches community.
We are a play-based preschool, introducing and implementing a “learning centers” curriculum where students are given the opportunity to be hands-on independent learners. The FUMC Preschool has low student-teacher ratios in each classroom to provide more opportunities for one-to-one time with each child in order to model appropriate interactions with others.
Serving ages 12 months and walking to Pre-Kindergarten.

Events
Fun filled student and parent events are happening all the time at FUMC until the very last day. It is important for students to see their parents participate and celebrate their creativity.

With a total of 8 classrooms, all labeled after animal names to help create visual identity in students, each classroom has two teachers and an occasional third student floater. Each classroom is filled with different learning centers that are switched out bi-weekly to maintain high engagement among students and introduce new concepts and themes.

We encourage students to foster curiosity and develop a sense of wonder by building their confidence to explore their environment and prioritizing multi-sensory learning that enable students to perform every day functions.
