Serving 14 children aged at three years old. The curriculums of FrogStreet, ABCJesusLovesMe, and “learning center” are expanded to meet the physical and social-emotional developmental growth needed for this age group. Children are given the opportunity to participate in small and large group time with the teacher as they continue to build on early math concepts, alphabetic and literary themes, and fine-motor skills that support handwriting, name writing, and dexterity

All children must be potty trained before entering the 3’s classroom.

Family is very important to me, and it is amazing to see how much children grow in a small amount of time. I am working forward to a great school year and meeting each one of you.

Ms. Gisselle, co-teacher

Hi I’m Gisselle, this year will be my second year working at the First United Methodist Church Preschool. I have two years working in childcare under my belt and am currently in the process of getting my Child Development Associate (CDA) certification. In my first year at FUMC, I worked in the 2’s classroom and loved it, now I am moving up to the 3’s classroom! I enjoy helping kids learn and grow.

Coming soon.

Ms. Shepherd, co-teacher

I’m Mary Jo Shepherd and I am a lover of children. This year will be my second year working at the First United Methodist Church Preschool and my second year teaching in the 3’s classroom. Prior to joining the FUMC family, I have worked in childcare for over 30 years and have worked with all ages from infants and toddlers to Pre-Kindergarten and after schoolers. I’ve worked in many different jobs within childcare ranging from administrative work, 24 years in driving a school bus, 4 years in alternative school, and 17 years in daycare. I currently have an Associates degree of Applied Sciences in Child & Family Development, a Certification of Completion in Child & Family Development, a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification, and training in Special Needs. I have been enjoying my journey and hope to go back this Fall for my Bachelor’s.

The FUMC Preschool has been a joy, especially seeing parents committed to working with the teachers. This school is awesome!
